Doriola's is very close to our house, about a block away. I can't figure why we haven't eaten there before or even heard much about it. Like most of the others, their location is excellent, as the intersection at Tudor Road and C Street generally anchors the northernmost stretch of Hotel Row in midtown. There are nine, relatively new, name hotels, between Tudor Road and International Airport Road on C Street today, with two more going up, and two others very close, all these are interspersed with eateries, some have their own restaurants and bars which allow walk-ins in addition to free breakfast for guests. They include the Hyatt House, Crowne Plaza Anchorage, Fairfield inn and Suites, Motel 6, Home Suites by Hilton, Home 2 Suites by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Aspen Suites, Hampton Inn, Spring Hill Suites, Hyatt Place, Staybridge Suites and Courtyard by Marriott as well as other less known ones. Doriola's was a pleasant surprise, it is a relatively small quality gourmet style restaurant. (Very clean with 17 tables, 5 of which are tables for two only). If you are looking for a burger joint where you receive huge portions of fries and a burger 3 inches thick with all the trimmings, you better avoid Doriola's, but if you want a nice quiet place to dine which provides quality cuisine, then it is for you. I previously rated TGI Friday's as the best bet for a decent meal in this area among the traditional run-of-the-mill eateries, however I forgot to consider those looking for a gourmet restaurant. So, Doriola's is one of those, another is Villa Nova. Villa Nova is on Arctic, one block to the west of C Street. Villa Nova has been one of our favorite fine dining establishments in Anchorage for years. We prefer the gourmet restaurants, and oh, by the way, these don't have televisions hanging all over the place blatting nonsense at you as you try and enjoy your meal, rather they have theme decorations and excellent pictures on the walls. I ordered a cup of Smoked Gouda Cheese and Potato Soup and a one half sandwich which was a Tweaked BLT – Premium Apple-Wood Smoked bacon, green leaf lettuce, spicy chipotle-mayo and house-made, seriously intense sun-dried tomato relish on toasted bread. It was just the right size of a meal for me at lunch, but if I had to do it over I would have ordered a "bowl" of soup, it was so good. You can also get an extra large bowl. A regular bowl and a full size sandwich would have been too much for me. Doriola's is closed on Sundays and open from 6:00 AM until 3:00 PM but open again for dinner Friday and Saturday night, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. They have a beer and wine license. I sure would like to try dinner there and I understand their breakfasts are unique too and as good as their lunches.

Very down to earth people. Food is AMAZING!!! Home cooked comfort food is what’s on the menu at Doriola’s. A special thank you to Janet for catering my company’s lunch meeting. When the delivery guy brought it, the aroma of the food had people coming out of their offices to find out what smelled so good. Big hit with the meeting attendees! Definitely will become a regular.

The quiche is always consistent in flavor and texture. It is so delicious. I was very impressed at how well the staff all work together to accommodate a party of 20 people. I was very impressed the food was great, everybody loved it. we had a good time, and they kept us in water and drinks.
The art on the wall is for sale. Cool!

Food is amazing and great customer service... have ordered several times for delivery for work and had a dept mtg there. Prices are a little high and some portions very small such as the quiche and sides. Definitely watch your bill very closely, prices never seem to match what's on the menu and have been over charged every time though they will make it right if brought to their attention. Very accommodating staff will continue to go or order in future...

I love this place so much. The staff is always friendly and leave you with a smile and a satisfied belly. Even though I know longer live in Anchorage I make it a point to always stop by when I'm in town. I also catch myself perusing the menu when I'm at work remembering the delicious flavors and the company I miss there. Miss Doriola's and Anchorage, I'll be back soon!!!

If I were on death row, I would want Doriola's Hale and Hearty Ham and Bean Soup with their Apple, Bacon, and Cheese sandwich as my last meal! Everything on their menu is INCREDIBLE AND HAPPY!

I always feel so much better after a meal at Doriola's, and today was no exception. The Italian Wedding Soup was so perfectly seasoned. The Blue Cheese, fresh pear, pecan salad was the perfect pairing. What a wonderful place to share life's and ups and downs with dear friends all year round. Thank you for being there for us.

I love your restaurant!! I live in California but when I come to visit my kids in Anchorage a meal at Doriola's is a must! I purchased your cookbook the last time I was up and just made the Molasses Crinkles this week, I am wondering if something might have been left out of the recipe as the cookies tasted good but were not chewy as described at all and were very, very dry. If not, I don't think I will make them again so would you please check the recipe and let me know? Thank you so much, look forward to being there again this winter :)

I ate at Doriola's for the first time last Friday, and it was so good that I went back for brunch on Saturday. The cream of wild mushroom soup is fantastic, as is the turkey BLT.

I just love Doriola's. I have been coming here for about 3 years and when my husband proposed, I knew that I wanted Doriola's to make the food for our special day. Janet created a menu that we could chose from. Evenything that we read on the menu sounded delicious. The day of the wedding was amazing. The food was spectacular. Everyone kept coming up to me praising the food. We had a chicken and 5 cheese manicotti with white wine sauce or grilled Pork tenderloin crusted with rosemary and thyme. We even had leftovers when the reception was finished. This place is amazing as well as the people who own it. Thank you Janet and Vivian for making our day perfect.

I have loved Doriola's for a very long time, and recommend it frequently. My favorite soup is what I call Cheeseburger Soup. You know the one I mean. When I saw it on the menu last week I knew I had to get there between errands. While there I texted my friend who is having trouble eating anything due to cancer treatment she is enduring. She allowed me to take her a bowl of that wonderful soup, and she was able to eat half of it while we visited. Thank you Doriola's for giving comfort in troubled times!
